The Meaning Behind Sarcelle
Sarcelle is French for the colour Teal. Teal symbolises calmness, serenity and balance, representing depth and stability. Teal is believed to promote a sense of tranquillity, relaxation, and sophistication. It’s the colour of freshness, elegance, and one of the most prominent colours that connects us to nature. It accompanies clarity and wisdom dating back as far as the birth of the ocean itself.Sarcelle was born out of the necessity to find affordable natural skincare products that are safe for the biggest organ in the human body – the skin.

Our Values

Cornelia’s Perspective:
Our skin is representative of our overall health. It reflects what’s going on inside. Imbalance in our bodies causes a wide range of possible skin problems, and that is exactly what happened to me.I grew up with extremely problematic, acne-prone skin and, at some point, even had hives. I was raised in a nature-driven home, but as a teenager, I struggled every day with the mere thought of looking at myself in the mirror, knowing that my skin was in the condition it was. I was stressed out because of it, and as you can imagine, it definitely didn’t improve my confidence. I tried everything! Every skincare brand you can think of, yes, I tried it. Others’ recommendations were my go-to. I listened to everyone but my own built-in, unique body cues. Through it all, I discovered the importance of getting to know your own body and how your skin reacts to the holistic approach to life.

My passion started growing as I got to know my body better. My skin slowly recovered over the course of nearly six years. Only after applying the holistic approach and listening to my body’s cues did I truly start seeing lasting results.
At the beginning of 2024, brainstorming and dreaming was a regular activity between me and my husband. We didn’t know the name at the time, but I knew that both Andries and I wanted to create a skincare product representing the restoration of balance.
So, that’s when we embarked on this adventure of creating Sarcelle. We took that holistic approach and, together, Andries and I created this unique brand, Sarcelle. Sarcelle strives to bring life and balance back into your skin and home.

Andries’ Perspective:
I grew up in a household that taught me the importance of skin care from a young age. I had clear, glowing skin throughout my childhood and early twenties. My skincare routine was very simple – I even used body cream as face cream many times, and my skin wouldn’t mind. But all this started to change when I became a working individual and started to experience more stress, and life’s demands increased.
In 2023, I started to develop eczema on my face for the first time in my life. This was a low point for me. I must admit here that my wife has inspired me a lot in life since we got married. When I met her, she was living extremely healthily, was an exercise junkie, and loved doing research about healthy living and eating. Going to a doctor was a last resort for her. I adopted this approach and developed a desire to understand the root cause of the condition on my skin.

When researching eczema, I noted that many articles pointed to a mineral deficiency in the skin. So, I decided to buy a very cheap zinc ointment. After a few weeks of consistent application, the eczema slowly went away. During this period, I also started to use a cannabis-based cream for my face, but this cream did nothing to remove the eczema. I was desperate for a cream that was healthy for the skin and packed with a lot of minerals and nutrients.
That is when I discussed with my wife the idea of starting our own cosmetics company. The rest is history.
